We offer lessons for ages 5 to adult, however, if you have a child who is younger than 5 but shows an aptitude for music or has very strong interest and can focus for at least 20 - 30 minutes we would love to try and help pair you with the right teacher!

ADULT LESSONSAdults pay per lesson, and we offer a 10% discount for blocks of four or more lessons booked at any one time. You can also purchase a block of credits to be used for booking lessons in the future, up to a year from the date of original purchase. These are great for gifts, btw! Our base single lesson prices for adult lessons are:30 minutes - $5545 minutes - $8860 minutes - $110CHILDREN'S LESSONSThe average monthly rates for children's lessons are:30 minute lessons - $250 - $280 monthly, $30 for trial lesson45 minute lessons - $350 - $390 monthly, $45 for trial lesson60 minute lessons - $420 - $500 monthly, $60 for trial lessonWhat Affects Your Rate Your monthly rate may be higher or lower than what is listed here based on:When you enroll during the school yearWhat day of the week your lessons are scheduled. Some days of the week will have fewer lessons scheduled than other days of the week, which affects the total price for the school year.In-home lessons will cost slightly more than lessons booked at KeylabAny custom lesson options requiring extra preparation time for teachersEnrollingAfter your trial lesson, we'll contact you about enrolling in regular weekly lessonsLessons are billed at a flat monthly rate that stays the same each month regardless of how many lessons are scheduled in a given calendar monthPricing is based on how many lessons you have for the school year, divided by the number of months in your enrollmentYour monthly price is not based on how many lessons occur in any given calendar month—you pay the same amount whether there are 2, 3, 4, or 5 lessons that monthHolidays and teacher absences are factored out of your pricing. You can either book a lesson online with one of our teachers at Keylab, or you can purchase a discounted credit pack to book with any teacher up to a year from date of purchase. To purchase a credit pack, choose the type of lesson you want and select the credit pack option that works best for you. You can click "use" on a credit after purchasing to schedule your lessons. The availability you will see at our site is only for teachers scheduled at our studio, but we may have additional teachers available for virtual lessons. We may also be able to schedule a time for a teacher not listed at our site to teach a lesson at our Carroll Gardens studio. Feel free to contact us with your availability and details and we'll do our best to make something happen for you asap. Adult lessons cancelled online at least 24 hours prior to the lesson will receive a make-up credit, which you can book directly from your account. If you cancel with less than 24 hours, no credit will be offered. ❗PLEASE NOTE: Adult lessons need to be cancelled online to receive credit. Emailing the studio will NOT cancel your lesson. If you do not cancel online via your account, you will not receive credit for a lesson, even if you contact us with more than 24 hours notice

Yes! We offer adult group music courses for piano, music production, and band performance classes. Some courses are set for a specific duration, like 8 or 10 weeks, and some classes are open-ended workshops, performance classes, or other types of classes that don't have a set curriculum and allow students to book single drop-in classes or purchase discounted credit packs to book into any open classes flexibly up to a year from date of purchase.You can find more info about courses here: Find out more about private one on one adult music lessons here:

TRIAL LESSONSWhen you're ready to schedule your child's first lesson, you can book a trial lesson at a discounted rate onlineSUBMIT A LESSON REQUESTScheduling a trial lesson online is the fastest way to get the time slot you want! But, if you're not ready to book yet, you can email the studio with questions, or you can submit a lesson request to let us know a bit about your child and their musical experience (none is required), what you're looking for in a teacher and lesson experience, and your preferred location and available days/times to schedule lessons. After you submit your lesson request, we'll follow up with you usually within a day or two at most to offer some teacher and scheduling options. If we don't have a good fit per your preferences, we'll give you an update on the status of your request and may suggest some alternatives if we have a teacher available but not during your preferred days/times. Once we have a teacher and time slot lined up, we'll schedule your trial lesson. You'll only be billed for the single lesson, and there is no commitment to enroll when you book your trial lesson. After the trial lesson, we will get in touch to see if you want to enroll in regular weekly lessons and reserve that time slot for the rest of the school year. Lessons are billed at a flat rate each month, and there is a month to month commitment.

After your child's trial lesson, contact us within 2 days to confirm you want to enroll your child in the time slot of their trial lesson. We'll send you a proposal with all details and pricing for the school year. All you need to do is accept the proposal and we'll take care of processing the enrollment on the admin side.We will bill you for the first month of lessons when we process the enrollment, schedule weekly lessons in that time slot for the school year, and set up automatic flat rate tuition payments to be processed on the 1st of each month from the 2nd month onward.If the teacher, time slot, or something else wasn't a good fit, let us know what works best for your family and we'll let you know if we have an open spot within your preferred schedule.

Please cancel your lesson online so your teacher is notified as soon as possible.We don't offer make-up lessons or credits for cancelled lessons, but you can reach out to your teacher directly via the family portal to request an assignment and supporting materials to make sure your child continues to progress week to week.If the studio or teacher cancels a lesson, you'll receive a make-up lesson credit.

Yes! We have a group band class "Songlab" and a group music production class "The Producer's Lab". Classes are for ages 9+ with options for full session enrollment & drop-in classes. Single classes range from $50 - $65 per class. Full session enrollment and class credit packs offer disounted pricing. Families currently enrolled in Keylab lessons or another class receive 30% off single class pricing (Discount is not applied automatically. PURCHASING A GIFT CERTIFICATEYou can purchase a gift certificate for single lessons or four -packs for 45 or 60 minute lessons for any instrument or subject we offer. Gift certificates are for lessons at Keylab or online. If you want a custom amount of lessons, want to spend a specific amount, or you want in-home lessons, please contact us before purchasing. At this time we can't automate adding gift certificate credits for a recipient, and need to process them manually, but we'll typically be able to do this one business day or less. If you purchase during times we are closed or on holidays, it may take more than one business day, but we'll process your gift certificate as soon as possible. When purchasing, you'll provide the recipient's first and last name and email address, and let us know your notification preferences for the recipient (we can send directly to the recipient or only to you if you want it to be a surprise).We can send you a custom gift certificate if you request it. Recipients will need to contact us to activate their creditsOnce their credits are activated, the recipient will be able to book online with any available teacher directly from their account.If the recipient wants to convert their credit for one instrument to another instrument or subject, like changing piano lessons to guitar lessons, or trying lessons for four different instruments/subjects, all they have to do is contact us to convert their credits.The credits will be active to use for up to one year from the original date of purchase.Please contact us at info@keylab.nyc if you need additional information before purchasing a gift certificate
