PERFORMANCE PARTY DETAILS

DATES: Monday, June 15 through Friday, June 19, 2026

LOCATION: Keylab, 94 Luquer St., Brooklyn, NY 11231

TIMES: See schedules below for arrival and performance times

DURATION: Approx. 35 to 50 minutes per performance, followed by pizza, snacks, and jam sessions every day after the late performance

 

WHAT IS A PERFORMANCE PARTY?

  • Performance Parties are our end of the school year live performance events at our 94 Luquer St. studio where participating students get to play their pieces for a live audience

  • Students will variously play pieces, perform with their teachers, or play their music production projects

  • After the performances, families can stick around for pizza and snacks

  • There will be a jam session at the end of the late performace each day

  • Participation is completely optional.

  • Use the links here to register your child, reschedule, or cancel their participation

SCHEDULING DETAILS

  • Children are initially assigned a guaranteed spot into an "early" or "late" segment on their regular lesson day roughly based on their regular lesson time.

  • We know this may not be ideal for every family, so we have added the ability to self-service reschedule online from May 4th until June 1st into any open segment during the week

  • If a student cannot attend their scheduled day or reschedule into available open spots, you can request to attend as many different segments as can work for you.

    • We will do our best to accommodate requests, but availability is not guaranteed.

  • Please note that if your child is scheduled on a day other than their regular lesson day, their teacher may not be scheduled to work, and may be unavailable to support them.

    • In these cases, we will assign another Keylab teacher who will consult with your child's teacher to provide support for their performance.

  • Siblings will be scheduled into the same performance segment whenever possible

  • If for any reason we do not have enough students for a segment, we may need to cancel that segment and ask you to move to a different day. If so, we'll give you as much notice as possible.

 

PERFORMANCE PARTY SCHEDULE
Monday June 15th through Friday June 19th 

Start and end times, and durations listed below are approximate.

MONDAY - THURSDAY

Early Performance 4 pm

  • Arrival: 3:30 to 3:50 PM

  • Performance begins: 4:00 PM

  • Approximate duration: 30 to 45 minutes

  • Pizza and snacks to follow 

 

Late Performance 5 pm

  • Arrival: 4:45 to 5:00 PM

  • Performance begins: 5:00 PM

  • Approximate duration: 30 to 45 minutes

  • Pizza/Jam Session to follow

 

FRIDAY

Single performance 4 pm - Juneteenth*

  • Arrival: 3:30 to 3:50 PM

  • Performance begins: 4:00 PM

  • Approximate duration: 45 to 60 minutes

  • Pizza/Jam Session to follow

 

* NYC public schools are closed on Friday, June 19 for Juneteenth, but we do have a party scheduled. If you prefer to join on another day, you can self-service reschedule online, or submit a schedule request using the booking link.

GENERAL INFO

 

Is participation mandatory?

  • Participation is completely optional, but all students are invited to perform if they'd like to!

  • If your child recently started lessons or you're not sure they're ready, ask their teacher for guidance.

 

Is there a fee to participate?

  • No, participation is completely free!

 

Will there be food and activities?

  • Yes! We'll have pizza and snacks after each performance for that day's participants and guests.

  • We'll also host a Jam Session each day after the Late performance, open to all Keylab kids every day of the week.

 

What are the key dates and deadlines?

  • May 4th: Deadline to claim your child's guaranteed spot.

    • Confirm your child's currently reserved spot, or submit a schedule request. 

    • Please note: you will not be able to self-service reschedule online until May 4th, but you can submit a scheduling request prior to May 4th​

  • May 4th: The schedule opens up and families may self-service reschedule online into any open spot during the week if spots are available. If not, you can submit a scheduling request and we'll let you know if a spot opens up on your preferred days.

  • June 1st: Schedule locks. From this date, please contact us at info@keylab.nyc to request changes. Changes are not guaranteed, but we'll do our best to accommodate requests if we can.

 

What time should we arrive?

  • 4 pm Early performance - Arrive between 3:30 and 3:50 PM.

  • 5 pm Late performance - Arrive between 4:45 and 5:00 PM.

  • Late arrivals will be admitted in between performances and will be moved to the end of the performance roster

 

How long will the performance be?

  • Performances are approximately 35 to 50 minutes, though duration may vary. 

 

Will we have to stay for the entire performance?

  • Please plan to stay for the full performance to support all performers.

 

How many guests can we bring?

  • Each family can have up to three guests, four persons total including their performer

  • If your family needs more than the allotted number of guests, please note this when confirming and we will follow up as soon as possible to let you know if we can accommodate your request.

 

What if my child can't attend on their scheduled day?

  • You may self-service reschedule online from May 1st, or request to attend on a different day.

  • While we cannot guarantee availability, we will do our best to accommodate requests.

 

Can we reschedule to a different day or segment after confirming our participation?

  • Yes! If you confirm a spot but want to move to a different day or segment, self-service reschedule to any open spot during performance party week until June 1st.

  • Please note that if you give up your current spot it will immediately become available to other families, and we cannot guarantee we will be able to move you back.

 

What if we have confirmed our child as a performer but have changed our mind and just want to attend the event without them performing?

  • You can change from a perfomer to an attending non-performer using the links here

  • Log in and click "manage booking" to make the switch into your currently confirmed segment anytime until June 1st

  • If you are changing status to "performer", it's best if you check with your child's teacher prior to switching to ensure the teacher is aware and has time to prepare your child properly for the performance

What if we cancelled participation but have changed our mind?

  • You can rejoin your original guaranteed segment anytime until June 1st if there is space available

  • You can also book any open spot available or submit a scheduling request until June 1st.

 

Can I request a specific performance time?

  • If you have a scheduling need, please let us know via the links on this page.

  • We are unable to guarantee specific spots on the performance roster, but we will do our best to honor requests if we can.
